Dear Friends, Colleagues and Patients:

Forty years in any profession is a long time.  For me, it has been a remarkable and wonderful journey from my home country of India, where I was initially trained as a physician, to my adopted home as a citizen of the United States, where I received advanced training and was able to grow as a doctor, colleague, husband, father and, now, grandfather.  I am blessed to be able to call America my home and share life with Shoba, my wife of 39 years, who is also a physician.

To be a doctor is a special privilege in our society.  We pledge to be lifelong learners; to respect the sanctity of life; and to heal, ultimately, body, mind and soul to the best of our abilities. 

During my career, thousands of patients have entrusted their care with me, often when facing acute life-threatening diseases, and have expressed intimately their appreciation for that care.  Here you will find my career history, research and publications that I participated in, and some thoughts about the future of medicine, reflecting on my life’s work as a gynecologic oncologist and surgeon.
